How To / Browsers - Clear Cache¶
A basic summary of how to clear your browser cache. This is particularly important immediately after an upgrade for each user - to ensure the old cached applications are cleared, and the new applications are downloaded locally.
Google Chrome¶
- chrome://settings/clearBrowserData?search=cache
- Tick the following options:
- Cookies and other site data.
- Cached images and files.
Alternatively,
- Click the ellipsis in the top right hand corner.
- Select More Tools.
- Click Clear Browsing Data.
- Choose the Advanced tab,
- From the Time Range field, select All Time
- Ensure the following are ticked:
- Browsing History,
- Download History,
- Cached Images and Files,
- Site Settings and
- Hosted App Data.
Firefox¶
- about:preferences#privacy
- Cookies and Site Data
- Clear Data
- Tick the following options:
- Cookies and Site Data.
- Cached Web Content.
Microsoft Edge (Chromium)¶
- edge://settings/privacy
- Clear Browsing Data.
- Choose what to clear.
- Tick the following options:
- Cookies and other site data.
- Cached images and files.
